"Fresh, delicious, nutritious gourmet mushrooms. This is my fourth order in 2 weeks. Freshly harvested same day pick up. Quality is excellent, generous quantity. Friendly service. How should l prepare the 3 different mushrooms included in this gourmet box? Lion’s Mane, King Brown and Oyster Mushrooms. Cleaned each mushroom with a damp cloth. Sliced in julienne strips. Prepared hot friying pan with a very light drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Added mushrooms, pinch Celtic salt. When mushrooms sweated down, added a teaspoon good quality butter, stiring with wooden spoon. Cooked each variety of mushroom separately as l wanted to saviour the taste and texture individually. My 3 grandchildren are fussy eaters, one is a vegetarian who does not like mushrooms! The magnificent aroma caught their attention immediately. Fussy vegetarian enjoyed the King Brown mushrooms very much (served on toasted sour dough bread). The Oyster mushrooms were also quickly eaten; Lion’s Mane, not so much, although everyone ate some. Lion’s Mane is more of an acquired taste due to texture, taste is great; a little stronger than the first two which have a little crunch in texture and a lovely buttery taste. Next lot l will be more bold, adding fried caramel onion and Australian garlic finely sliced (a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and finely chopped parsley may be added). Perfect to serve as a side dish, in risotto, casserole, soup, pizza topping, or simply on toast. Absolutely delicious!
